MEMBERSHIP Policies

*Age Related Policies: Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older at all times. Children of any age attending family programs (family swim, family gym...etc) must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older. $5 guest fee applies to non-member accompanying adults. Youth and teen facility hours vary by day and activity. Please consult schedules at front desk or view on-line. Adults are not allowed in the youth locker rooms. Family changing rooms are available for adults tending to young children.

ID Card Policy: A valid Malden YMCA membership card is required to gain access to the facility. A replacement fee of $3.00 will be charged for all lost ID cards.

Guest of Member: As a courtesy to our members, reduced rate visitor passes are available for $5 each. Members must accompany guests. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older. Members under the age of 18 are permitted to have guests only if accompanied by an adult age 21 or older. Reduced fee day passes for adults accompanying minors are available for $5 each.

Conduct: The Malden YMCA is committed to creating a wholesome, family environment that is safe and appropriate for all members, participants, guests, and staff regardless of age, gender, race, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. In accordance with this commitment, the following activities and behaviors are prohibited on all YMCA premises:

• Misuse of membership privileges (including transfer of membership to non-members)
• Falsifying membership information
• Unsafe conduct regarding children
• Use of violence, force, coercion, threats, insults, or intimidation
• Sexual activity/sexual misconduct
• Use of profane, vulgar, or obscene language
• Making defamatory or derogatory statements to others
• Fraudulent activity including, but not limited to theft, destruction of property, and personal use of YMCA supplies or property
• Possession or use of an intoxicating substance, or entering/using YMCA premises while under the influence of intoxicants
• Soliciting on YMCA premises
• Use or possession of weapons
• Failure to follow YMCA rules and regulations
• Failure to comply with these rules may result in suspension or termination of membership, guest privileges, or participant privileges.

Valuables: The Malden YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Day use lock-boxes are available upon request. Lost and found items not claimed within 7 days will be donated to charity.

Locker Rooms: Children over the age of 18 months are not permitted in adult locker rooms.

AWAY Policy: Malden YMCA participates in the AWAY (Always Welcome at YMCA's) program which allows members traveling outside of their Association to utilize other YMCA facilities across the country with a current YMCA membership. MY Y is EVERY Y. Limited to 4 visits per month.
